Associate Brittany Shipley passes the Virginia Bar Exam

TimberlakeSmith is proud to announce its associate Brittany Shipley successfully passed the Virginia bar exam this summer. Brittany graduated from Mary Baldwin College summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts (with distinction) in Political Science in January 2015. She earned a juris doctor from William and Mary Law School in May 2018. During law school, Brittany worked as an Extern in the office of the Honorable Lawrence R. Leonard, Magistrate Judge for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia; in the office of the Honorable David W. Lannetti, Judge for the Circuit Court for the City of Norfolk; and in the Hampton Commonwealth's Attorney's Office on its Juvenile and Domestic Relations Team. She also was a staff member on William and Mary's Bill of Rights Journal, worked in the Domestic Violence Clinic, and served as Logistics Chair for Student Legal Services. Brittany loved the Staunton area so much she returned, with her husband, cat, dog, and rabbit, to begin her career as a lawyer at TimberlakeSmith.
